Because all the people killing other people in Chicago, have illegal weapons, if you give lawful citizens guns the criminals generally think twice before a home invasion. Anything automatic is definitely illegal because you can't legally own one, and people need to be able to defend themselves, the police aren't always there to help. More guns less crime is a study thats been done in over 300 cities and 40 countries always with the same results more guns(legal in the hands of law abiders) less crime
