You'll get a kick out of this... when Kirkpatrick, the former UN Ambassador, spoke at Wabash in the mid 80s, my dorm was right across from the auditorium at which she spoke... and there, sitting for all the world to see... was our family car with the bumper sticker "Get US out of the UN!" My parents and I still went to hear her and her lt.s, and wish she would have fun for president, but...
Just tho't you'd appreciate that joke. Wabash College has a long tradition of bringing in very conservative speakers, even though most of the faculty when I was there '86-90 were aging hippy types.
Its one of the last remaining all male schools in the country- how's that for conservative! They've brought up the issue of going co-ed several times recently, the faculty is generally in favor of it, but the alumni always vote it down by a huge margin. We all figured... we lived through it with cold showers and road trips to Purdue and DePauw and Indy, so can today's young men.
If you plan on going to college want a VERY rigorous Liberal Arts education, you might think about it.
